i wish to compose these words so fine
a lovelier shroud of sense and mind
than what I possess. this body mine
could thus be improved in all due timealight the crows upon my banister
circling with intent just a touch sinister
with the endless clock my thoughts careen
amongst wild wingbeats in a feathered dreami itch, with the poet's craving, unending
for still nothing emerges from my pen, unmoving
my heart all abeat, the rhythm unfounded,
my eyes crazed, possessed, my passions unshrouded
I write as though blessed, as though cursed, divine
I want to burn, be devoured, in the beauty of a line
